Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Money and Macros website, web application, and mobile applications (the "Service"), operated by Money and Macros LLC ("M&M," "we," "us"), a limited liability company organized under the laws of Washington. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction to enter into a paid subscription. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

What the Service is

M&M is a tool for personal tracking of spending and nutrition. It includes manual entry, AI-based receipt and food-photo scanning, dashboards, and related features. We are not a bank, financial advisor, accountant, dietitian, nutritionist, or healthcare provider, and the Service does not provide professional advice of any kind.

M&M offers an optional bank-connect feature powered by Plaid Inc. that imports transaction and balance information from financial institutions you choose to connect. Use of this feature is subject to Plaid’s own terms and privacy notice (linked from our Privacy Policy). You may disconnect at any time from Settings.

Mobile apps

M&M is also available as a mobile application distributed through third-party app stores, such as the Google Play Store. Downloading and using a mobile app is additionally subject to the terms and policies of the app store you obtain it from. The mobile app may request device permissions — such as access to your camera — which you can grant or revoke in your device settings. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@moneyandmacros.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not share your account, transfer it, or use it in a way that interferes with other users.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written consent.
• Submit content that is illegal, fraudulent, infringing, harmful, or designed to abuse the Service.
• Use the Service to send spam, malware, or unsolicited communications.
• Bypass rate limits, scrape data, or use automated means to access the Service.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

AI features

M&M uses AI (currently Anthropic's Claude) to extract data from receipts, food photos, and order screenshots. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing every suggestion before logging it. We are not liable for decisions you make based on AI-extracted data.

Not financial, tax, or health advice

Information shown in the Service — including budgets, balances, projections, macro targets, calorie counts, and nutrition recommendations — is for personal informational purposes only. It is not financial, tax, accounting, legal, medical, or nutritional advice. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your money or your health.

Your content

You retain ownership of the data you enter and the photos you upload. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and back up your content as needed to operate the Service. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Our content

The Service, including its software, design, branding, copy, and the Money and Macros name and logo, is owned by M&M and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy or reuse it without our written permission, except for normal use of the Service.

Pricing and billing

The Service has a free tier and a paid tier ("Plus"). Plus subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe at the prices shown on the pricing page or at sign-up. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you will retain Plus access until then.

Refunds: we generally do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, but contact support@moneyandmacros.com if you have an issue and we will make a reasonable attempt to help.

Promotions: founding-member offers, free-year promotions, and other discounts are subject to the terms stated at the time of sign-up. We may end or change promotional offers at any time, but changes will not affect benefits already granted.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if your account presents a security risk, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your access ends, and we will delete or de-identify your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-EXTRACTED DATA WILL BE ACCURATE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, M&M WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify M&M against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
